Design and Composition - Runners

A runner with two hardboard stringers

Our runners are what set us apart. They are designed to support massive amounts of weight and span open spaces (such as racking). They are also incredibly durable when compared with other corrugated pallets.

All of our runners are made from doublewall corrugated sheets laminated together. Most of our runners also feature hardboard stringers laminated in the middle of this buildup. This patented process of laminating corrugate and hardboard is the key to the extreme strength and stiffness of our pallets. We generally use two 4mm strands of hardboard in the center of the buildup, seperated by 2 sheets of doublewall. For special applications we can place the two sheets of hardboard near the outside edges of the runner. Sometimes, when requested by a customer, we can omit the hardboard in our manufacturing process in order to achieve a cost-savings on shipping low-weight or evenly distributed products.

For 4-way fork entry, our runners are unbeatable. The notches in our runners are created at the very first stages of our process, using a rotary die-cutter for corrugated sheets and a CNC router for hardboard. Finished 4-way runners are one-piece and are nearly as strong as our 2-way runners. The notches (typically 1.75" high on a 3.5" runner) feature curved corners with no weak points.

We can also manufacture “block pallets” in order to achieve significant cost savings for low-weight or evenly distributed applications which don't require racking. Block pallets are exceptionally well suited to long, flat loads, or when used as part of other packaging.

Currently, the maximum length for all type of runners is 60".

Runners are typically 3.5" tall x 3" wide. We also regularly produce runners that are 4", 4.5", and 5.5" tall.

Design and Composition - Deck Sheets

The decks of most pallets we manufacture consist of a sheet of 700lb (67ECT) AAA flute triplewall. This is a strong and rigid material which can be cut and also printed. For light-weight applications, a doublewall sheet may be suitable. For extreme applications, a higher grade triplewall sheet, or two sheets of triplewall laminated together provide an extremely solid and rigid base.

The bottoms of our pallet usually consist of a triplewall sheet, a die-cut doublewall sheet, strips, or nothing at all. For heavy loads, a strong bottom is essential for dimensional stability. Our packaging experts will be able to determine your design needs based on the product you are shipping, the weight, and how it is being shipped.
